"If there¡¯s going to be a war to stop [Kim Jong-Un], it will be over there. If thousands die, they¡¯re going to die over there [in the Korean peninsula].¡± -- US Senator Lindsay Graham

The most logical beginning would be a freeze for a freeze: North Korea would freeze its nuclear and missile testing in return for the United States and South Korea freezing their annual military exercises. Send Tillerson to Pyongyong.  Petition to President Donald Trump

Dear Friend--this week the United Nations led by the United States celebrated the latest economic sanctions on North Korea.  What shame especially when there are other options!

As you know, the sanctions will hurt the most vulnerable: children, women, elderly, the poor and sick in North Korea (please see references). Instead of celebrating on the world¡¯s longest and cruelest sanction on the world¡¯s weakest that won't work, we should pursue result-oriented acts such as recommended and promoted by our awesome, experienced and professional global citizen diplomats: this week's 3 missions!

Please kindly help us with this week¡¯s 3 missions, which will take less than 1 minute of your time!

In possibly considering signing the petition, I kindly wish you to do it for those who will suffer the most from the latest sanction against North Korea: children, women, elderly, the poor and sick.

Please remember the time when someone helped you when you needed the most!

The children in North Korea will remember us when they grow up in 20 years!

More than 30 per cent of 5-year-olds in North Korea are stunted, and five per cent remain severely malnourished and at a state of living-death

More than 1/4 of pregnant or breastfeeding woman in North Korea are severely and acutely malnourished

Mission 1): American Friends Service Committee via Dan Jasper, Korea Peace Network

"Protect Humanitarian Assistance to the people of North Korea"

¡°Humanitarian assistance is in jeopardy. Please take action and share this alert widely with your networks.¡± Dan Jasper, Korea Peace Network

¡°Korean-Americans seeking to reunite with their loved ones, cultural exchanges, and groups like ours working to build bridges.¡± Christine Ahn, Women Cross DMZ

The Trump administration has issued new travel restrictions on U.S. passport holders to North Korea that could hinder access for humanitarian organizations, journalists, Korean-American families seeking to reunite with loved ones, faith-based delegations, cultural exchanges, or other groups seeking to build bridges to dialogue.

Humanitarian assistance to North Korea helps those in need and keeps channels of international engagement and dialogue with North Korea open.

Mission 2): Send Tillerson to Pyongyong.  Petition to President Donald Trump

With tensions rising between on the Korean peninsula and evidence clear that sanctions and military pressure against North Korea do not work, it¡¯s time for a bold initiative. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson should be dispatched right away to North Korea to begin negotiations. The most logical beginning would be a freeze for a freeze: North Korea would freeze its nuclear and missile testing in return for the United States and South Korea freezing their annual military exercises.

Sixty percent of Americans, regardless of political affiliation, support direct negotiations between Washington and Pyongyang. So does President Moon of South Korea and Secretary of State Tillerson. We urge you to give Tillerson the opportunity to show us he¡¯s a diplomat with the courage to make the peace deal of the century.

PLEASE SIGN NOW!
