I stayed overnight in West Memphis before crossing the Mississippi River. There are only two bridges leading to Memphis across the river. Both of them are highways. Crossing the highway bridge early Sunday morning was less traffic, so I thought I could cross it relatively easily. The sound of wind on the bridge in the rain was like the tone of a husky, sexual female singer. I've seen too much of the phrase 'Blue Water of the Mississippi' in novels and anything else. The yellowish waters made me wonder if they had ever come to the Mississippi River and wrote such a story. Or maybe they didn't mind about the color of the Mississippi River from the beginning. They were just fascinated by the spectacular scenery of that river and went back and wrote on their desk, and the word 'blue water' might have been the only word they thought of the river. Or maybe the Mississippi River I'm now looking at isn't what it was before. When I came here a few years ago, the Mississippi River over-flooded with yellowish water. Humming Elvis Presley's 'Love Me Tender' in the rain, I crossed the great 6.5-kilometer-long river Mississippi to reach Memphis, the world's largest cotton market. It seemed that it had been named after Memphis, a city in ancient Egypt, but I don¡¯t know the reason or the relation of the two. Dockyards of most rivers, which flow in the vast United States, are inundated with water, for it rains almost every day these days.

The streets of downtown were enveloped in silence on Sunday morning. On Sunday morning in Memphis, the city of blues, church bells were spreading softly in the quiet city instead of the blues, all I see are the homeless sleeping out in the corner of the building. The leg injury that had been bothering me for two weeks has now healed completely. The water flowing like this, the dense forest along the river, the many lives running and flying in the forest, and the fields around it, where drowning is ordinary. are good topics for arousing artistic inspiration. Flowing through almost every city in the central United States, the Mississippi River is a lifeline for many of the life while also inspiring and stimulating artists at the same time.

Many rivers that I have passed and will pass through are all coming to the Mississippi River and flows together, again. Mississippi has something more than enough for a child or an adult also to fill in with curiosity and adventure. The great river makes us spread the wings of the rainbow of imagination, but it is also the object of fear. Only those who ask endless curiosity and questions and sometimes recklessly execute them can get a vivid answer which is alive. If I get an answer that can fill my life even in my late fifties and live a good life for another 50 years, that would be a great deal really.

Humans are also adventurous animals if they are thinking animals. Adventures involve many dangers. Just as an eagle spreads its wings from a cliff and throws itself into the air in order to fly up in the sky, it is an adventure to remove clouds of fear, to spread our imaginary wings, and to throw ourself into Mother Nature. A timid cityman who worships speed and efficiency as a god can never venture. We should remain as calm as possible in situations where we are stressed from the dangers, pain and discomfort that frequently come. So it has been proved clearly that everyone around me, including myself, who defined definitely me as short-tempered, didn't know me. I have dealt with the dangers and inconveniences that have come to me with amazing composure very well.

The consequences of the adventure were always unpredictable, but I managed to pull myself through in a calm manner, no matter what happened unexpectedly to me. I hope that it will be a true education that will help each one's individuality, not to learn how to beat others and survive in endless competition. It is also hoped that there will be an education system to help children contribute to society, not an education system to treat children, who think creatively while doing funny things like Tom Sawyer and Huckcleberry Finn, as incompetent and useless ones and to filter out such children. Children with pure and free souls are not called model students. But such children grow up and change society. With the fearless, wild-eyed children at vigorous age locked up in a small space, and with cramming education, their imagination is bound to be stifled and shriveled. Children need to be released into the mountains and the rivers to be creative and strong. In a society of stifling competition, a vicious boy like Tom Sawyer is breathing hard and cheering with fresh wind coming through the open windows, while doing eccentric behavior. There is room for improvement in any society.
